"She imbues her work with the reserve and refinement of a culture absolutely certain of itself while retaining what she calls "the ambiguity of
situation"... through a masterly control of volume, colour and almost cinematic sense of movement" ~ Gerald Hannon - Contributing Editor
Toronto Lift Magazine

"The cosmopolitan aspect of her work, which she describes as "urban readings" of the world about her, is immediately apparent. Concentrating on the human form, faces are only half-glimpsed or not seen at all as she paints, the fleeting moments and exhilarating minutia of city lift". ~Patricia Calnan - The Royal Gazette, Bermuda

"Sonia von Walter's large acrylic canvasses fill the small Masterworks Gallery...with vibrant life - ordinary scenes painted in extraordinary manner...Movement and energy fills many of the works, which are as intriguing to look at up close as from afar". ~Denise DeMoura - Mid-Ocean News, Bermuda

She conducted numerous workshops and demonstrations in various countries and contributed her work to many charitable organisations, including “RE-UNITE” in the UK, “Heart & Stroke foundation” in Canada and Bermuda, Masterworks foundation and National Trust in Bermuda.

Her work was featured in Swiss Canadian Motion Picture Production “Dead By Monday”.

Sonia von Walter’s paintings can be found in private and corporate collections throughout Bermuda, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, UK and USA.

Two years ago Sonia von Walter moved from Toronto (Canada) to a beautiful island of Portugal, where she paints in a century old butter factory converted in her new studio.
